Terms of Service
1. Who we are and what these terms cover
These terms govern your use of dnexposer.com and the services we offer through it: the curated domain marketplace, domain brokerage, and brand naming consultation. They are an agreement between you and the company named at the bottom of this page.
Using this site means you accept these terms. If you do not, please do not use the site.
2. What we are, and what we are not
We are an advisory and brokerage practice. We are not a domain registrar, we do not register or renew domains on your behalf, and we hold no registry accreditation. Registration and renewal stay with the registrar you choose.
We are not attorneys and we do not provide legal, tax or trademark advice. Trademark clearance and disputes belong with a qualified attorney. See our disclaimer for the full limits of what we publish and advise.
3. Using the site
The content of this site, including articles, analysis and page design, is ours and is protected by copyright. You may read it, share links to it and quote it with attribution. You may not republish it wholesale, scrape it at scale or pass it off as your own.
You agree not to attempt to disrupt the site, circumvent its security, or use its forms to send automated, abusive or misleading submissions.
Where we link to an outside source, we link to the original publication rather than to an aggregator. We do not control those sites and we are not responsible for what they publish. We carry no advertising and no affiliate links: nothing on this site is placed here because a third party paid for it.
4. The marketplace
4.1 Listings are invitations, not offers
A domain shown on the marketplace with a price is an invitation to deal, not a binding offer of sale. A listing marked for offer carries no price at all. Nothing is sold until both parties agree terms and the transfer completes through escrow.
We take reasonable care with listing information, but availability, pricing and status can change, including between the moment you view a page and the moment you enquire.
4.2 Transfers go through escrow
Domain transfers are completed through a third-party escrow service. That service has its own terms, which govern the transfer itself. We do not hold buyer funds. Funds release to the seller when the domain reaches the buyer's account, not before.
5. Submitting a domain for review
5.1 Review is discretionary
Owners may submit a domain they already hold for consideration. Our marketplace is curated, and submitting a domain does not create any right to be listed. We accept or decline at our discretion, and we are not obliged to explain a decision in detail.
We make no promise that a submitted domain will be accepted, listed, priced at any level, shown to any audience, or sold within any period. The criteria in the next clause describe what we look for. They are not a score, they are not an appraisal of your domain, and meeting them does not guarantee a listing.
5.2 What we look for, and what is out of scope
The marketplace is brandable only. We look for names that are coined, compound or evocative, short enough to be said once and spelled without hesitation, carrying no hyphen and no digit, and pointing either to no sector in particular or to one clearly identifiable sector. The .com is our priority extension; we also consider .ai, .io and .org.
We also look at history and standing: no identical or confusingly similar registered trademark in the sector the name points to, no dispute proceeding past or pending, no history of spam, adult content or penalised deployment, verifiable ownership and control at the registrar, and a domain held by its current owner for at least six months.
Of everything above, the criterion that ends the most submissions is none of them: it is the price expectation. A figure inconsistent with dated comparable sales closes a review faster than any weakness in the name itself.
These are out of scope, whatever their quality:
- city names, local exact match names and other geographic names;
- descriptive exact match names;
- typo domains and names derived from an existing brand;
- names pointing to firearms, adult content, gambling, pharmaceuticals or crypto.
5.3 What you confirm when you submit
You confirm that:
- you own the domain and control it at the registrar;
- there is no ownership dispute, no pending dispute proceeding and no history of one;
- to your knowledge the name does not infringe a registered trademark in the sector it points to, clearance being your responsibility and a question for your attorney;
- the domain has no history of spam, adult content or penalised deployment;
- you can transfer it through escrow, and any transfer lock can be lifted.
5.4 Renewal stays with you
You remain the owner while the domain is listed. Keeping the registration current is your responsibility, and the registration must run long enough to cover the listing period: a domain that expires during a listing is removed. An unsold domain costs you nothing beyond its own renewal.
5.5 How we are paid
There is no listing fee and no upfront payment of any kind. We are paid a success fee, and only when a sale completes.
The fee is 15 percent of the final sale price. It is a single flat rate with no tiers, and it is calculated on the price the domain actually sells for.
A minimum of $100 applies. This is a floor rather than a charge: it applies only where 15 percent of the final sale price would fall below it, so that a low-value sale still covers the work of closing it. It is never invoiced separately, never payable in advance, and never due on a domain that does not sell.
The same rate and the same floor are published on the marketplace page. If the two ever differ, the more favourable figure to the owner applies until we correct it.
6. Brokerage and consultation
Brokerage and naming consultation are agreed case by case, in writing, before work begins. The scope, the fee and the payment terms are set out in that agreement, and it prevails over this page for the engagement it covers. No rate for either service is published here, because neither is sold from a price list.
We act as an intermediary. We do not control whether an owner responds, negotiates or agrees to sell, and we cannot guarantee that any particular domain can be acquired or acquired at a given price.
Where we value a domain, we do so against dated comparable sales and we say when a range is wide and why. A valuation is reasoning, not an appraisal, and it binds neither party to a price.
7. No guaranteed outcome
We do not guarantee a valuation, a sale, an acquisition, a resale price, a search ranking or a return on a domain purchase. Nothing on this site, and nothing said in the course of an engagement, should be read as such a guarantee.
Articles published here are general information about a market, not advice on your situation and not an invitation to treat domains as a speculative investment. A domain is a business asset, and what it is worth to you depends on facts we have not seen.
8. Messages and emails
A message sent through our forms is stored so that it can be answered, and is used for nothing else. Sending one does not subscribe you to anything.
Our newsletter is opt-in and every issue carries an unsubscribe link that works without a reply from us. What we store and for how long is set out in the privacy policy.
9. Liability
The site and its content are provided as they are. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including lost profit or lost opportunity, arising from your use of the site or reliance on general information published here.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top of the page changes with them, and a change affecting fees or the listing programme will be described rather than applied quietly. Terms agreed in a signed engagement are not changed by an update to this page.
11. Contact
