Valuation and pricing

We publish valuation reasoning: how comparable sales work, what moves a price, why an automated estimate and an observed transaction are not the same kind of fact. That reasoning is a method, not a number.

• Nothing on this site is an appraisal of any domain, including one you own or one listed on our marketplace.
• Past sale prices describe transactions that already happened, under their own conditions, with their own buyer and their own urgency. They do not predict what a comparable name will sell for.
• A price we quote or a range we discuss is not a commitment to buy, to sell or to obtain that figure, and no outcome is guaranteed. The seller's position and market conditions govern any transaction.

Trademarks and legal questions

A domain name that is available to register is not, for that reason, available to use. Availability at a registrar says nothing about trademark rights, and the two are decided in different places.

We are not attorneys and nothing here is legal advice. Trademark clearance, infringement, disputes, UDRP proceedings and anything touching on your right to use a name belong with a qualified attorney in the relevant jurisdiction, before you commit to a name and before you spend on it. Any article that raises the subject says the same thing in place.

Search and visibility

Where we explain how a domain relates to search visibility, we rely on published guidance from search engines and on observed patterns, both of which change. A domain name is one signal among many, and treating it as the lever overstates what it does. We do not promise a ranking, a position or a traffic outcome, and no one honestly can.

We link to outside sources, and we link to the original report rather than a site republishing it. We have no control over those pages: their content, availability and accuracy are their publishers' responsibility, and a link is not an endorsement of everything else on that site. We carry no affiliate links and receive nothing for linking.

Accuracy over time

Registry rules, extension availability, pricing practice and market conditions all change, sometimes quickly. An article is accurate as of the date shown on it. We revisit published material when the ground moves, but an older article may describe a situation that no longer holds.
